Are your indoor potted plants getting an unhealthy colour? Most often it is shades of yellow, brown and black. You can also tell if a plant is rotting by the fact that it is drying out on the outside. In this case, you have watered the plant more than it needs and it is overwatered. Plants rot because there is too much water in the substrate and the roots begin to rot. Then the plant shows a change in the leaves. Did you know that you don’t have to throw away such a plant? If you know how to do it, it can be saved.
It is important to recognize healthy roots
Healthy roots are pale (white or beige) and uniform in color. When you pull the plant out of the pot, you should find the entire network of roots. The roots are small and thin. These are just beginning roots, more like buds. They take water and nutrients from the soil, which they supply to the whole plant. Rotting roots bend much more easily than healthy ones, they are brown and you can see that they are dry inside.

If you find something wrong with the plant
It should be removed from the pot of dirt immediately. Check her roots to see if they are okay, most of the time the problem will be in them. It may be that most of the roots will be dry, rotting or with an unpleasant smell of dampness. These roots should be removed immediately. Bacteria and infections breed very well in damp and are then transferred to the leaves of the plant, which are always the first to notice a problem.
After removing the unwanted roots, place the plant in a new pot with fresh potting medium and pour the garlic decoction over it. It is important to repeat this process at least twice.

If almost all the roots have rotted, don’t lose hope. This too has a solution. First, remove all infected roots. Don’t worry if the plant has almost nothing left. Then dip the entire remaining root ball in ground cinnamon, which has a disinfectant effect. Leave it like this for a full 24 hours, then place the plant in a glass of water, changing the water regularly. After some time, new roots will appear. How long this time will be depends on the plant.
