Homemade fabric softener without dangerous chemicals will soften any clothes and towels, just two ingredients for a few crowns

Who wouldn’t love to wrap themselves in a fluffy, fragrant and soft towel after a bath or hot shower? But even the best quality towels often become rough and hard. How to easily restore their softness? Certainly not with fabric softener, which, on the other hand, should not be used on towels at all.

Try using homemade fabric softener instead of chemical fabric softener

Most of us put fabric softener in our laundry for the reason of making it smell nice. But you may be putting too much fabric softener or diluting it incorrectly. Instead of softening, all you get is fibers settling and towels losing their ability to absorb moisture, drying slowly and also getting rough.

You only need two ingredients to make homemade fabric softener:

  • Baking soda
  • vinegar

It is a fabric softener that is completely harmless to our health and is much safer and more effective than conventional chemical fabric softeners. Just pour both ingredients into the washing powder chamber. Baking soda will remove the stains that vinegar dissolves from clothes and also make the fabric softer. After washing, your towels will be fresh and when dry, they will be fluffy as if you bought them new.

You can repeat the process as needed until your towels are soft and smell like new. You can use baking soda and vinegar not only on your towels, but also on other clothes that need a little freshness.

Do not dry towels in direct sunlight

You should dry your towels in a place where the harsh sun won’t shine after you take them out of the washing machine. You should have them dry in no time, but they will be terribly rough and sometimes even wringing them in your hand won’t help. If your towels are white, feel free to leave them in the sun for a while, as the sun will bleach the fabric and they’ll look great.

You should dry your clothes outdoors even in nasty weather. Drying at home on a dryer can take a long time, plus it is not advisable because of the increased humidity and the subsequent formation of mold and other ailments that can affect your health.
