A cool environment and dry air is a must for garlic. A home dark pantry can serve perfectly. Here you can store your garlic in a basket or paper bag. Try to spread the garlic slightly. Keeping the garlic in a really dark place will prevent early germination. If you have garlic from your own garden, you should let it dry out and then store it. It is not recommended to store garlic in the fridge. It can only go in the fridge when you have peeled or chopped it. Unpeeled, it could catch mould, and this is certainly not ideal for your health.
