If your laundry doesn’t smell nice and fresh immediately after washing, it’s time to clean your washing machine completely. You may have detergent residue in your washing machine, fabric softener, water behind the rubber drum that’s mouldy and subsequent mould contaminating the water, which then smells unpleasant, and many other unpleasant deposits. Get rid of this smell and have perfectly clean clothes.
Other aspects to note
After you turn on any programme on your washing machine, listen to the sounds it makes. Unusual clicking, grinding and other noises may be a sign of an object stuck to the drum that may be binding dirt to itself. Have you noticed an unusual sound? Don’t hesitate to clean your washing machine immediately before the stuck object causes irreparable and irreversible damage.

Easy Cleaning
There are various commercial cleaners on the market for washing machines, drains and more. Of course, you can also use something much cheaper and more eco-friendly. This way, you can save your health and the environment. For a perfect cleaning of your washing machine – drum and hoses, containing mildew and dirt, try vinegar. Do not use six percent vinegar or eight percent vinegar, but use 20 percent vinegar, which is also easy to find and costs a few crowns. Pour one litre of vinegar into the washing machine drum and run the programme at 90°C. Do not put any clothes in the machine – the drum will be empty.
If you don’t have hard water, but have build-up in your hoses, you’ll want to try something stronger.

Ingredients for cleaning the strongest deposits
You may wash greasy and heavily soiled clothes in the washing machine, which are usually work pants and blouses. If you wash such clothes, you will need to clean the washing machine regularly. Preferably every six months. To clean your washing machine perfectly:
- 2 cups of vinegar
- ½ cup of water
- 1 bag of washing soda
- ½ cup baking soda
Pour the mixed baking soda and water into the detergent and fabric softener dispenser. Pour the vinegar, preferably 20%, directly into the washing machine drum and add a sachet of washing soda. Turn the washing machine on the hottest and longest programme. The washing soda and vinegar will break down mould and deposits, plus disinfect the washing machine. Now you can enjoy a clean washing machine and perfectly fragrant and fresh laundry. We recommend cleaning your washing machine every six months in this way. A dirty washing machine not only smells, but can also cause skin diseases.
