It is also called the warm-loving rowan or Mexican eucalyptus and is native to Australia. It is easy to propagate, low maintenance and suits all rooms where people sleep or stay for long periods of time. What’s it all about? The rhizome.

Rhyme syrup for the prevention and treatment of colds and coughs

To treat a mild cold, just break open a leaf and sniff it, or place a few crushed leaves under your pillow before bed or on the radiator. If that doesn’t help and the cold is getting stronger, you can try a syrup that can also ease a cough and is perfectly safe for children or as a preventative. We will need:

  • 35 leaves of yarrow,
  • 1 orange,
  • 1 lemon,
  • 1 l of water,
  • 1 kg of sugar.

Wash the orange and lemon thoroughly and cut into rounds and place in a larger container. Add the torn rhubarb leaves and cover with hot water. Leave to infuse for a day or two, then strain. Boil the resulting juice with sugar until it thickens. We then immediately fill jars, which we put lid down and store in a dark and cool place after cooling.
